TO FIDIC MEMBER ASSOCIATIONS
Ladies and Gentlemen,
Project Sustainability Management: the new imperative
Brussels, 6 April 2006
A one-day FIDIC Project Sustainability Management Workshop
http://www.fidic.org/psm2006
The concept of sustainable development - development that meets the needs of today's generation without preventing future generations from meeting their own needs - originated at a global level. Translating the objective into specific actions at the infrastructure project level challenges both the public and private sectors, particularly in an environment that seeks broad stakeholder participation.
As you will be aware, FIDIC has developed Project Sustainability Management (PSM) so that all stakeholders in a project are assured that project goals and objectives refer directly to established global objectives for sustainable development.
This FIDIC Project Sustainability Management Workshop aims to assist firms, organizations and individuals in implementing project sustainability in everyday professional and business practice. It will provide an in-depth knowledge of how to implement sustainability services in an organization. The workshop starts with a general overview of sustainability as a global issue and continues through to an in-depth knowledge of the implementation of Project Sustainability Management in projects.
The workshop will be of interest to all those involved with the next generation of infrastructure projects that will increasingly call for meaningful and measurable progress toward sustainability. It is specifically tailored for professionals, managers and specialists from government ministries and agencies, private sector employers, consultants, contractors, quantity surveyors, architects, financiers, legal advisers, and clients.
Member Associations will benefit from attendance, providing them with valuable information on PSM, and better equip you to respond to queries from your members and their clients. Full information is available online at http://www.fidic.org/psm2006
